A page of my favorite websites
I put up a new page on Domfly: Favorite websites. It's a short list of the websites that stuck with me, the ones that showed me a website could feel like something, not just hold information.
What's on it so far
- Image Mechanics (Sydney, 2010–2013). An app studio whose whole site slid in page by page.
- Hella (Sacramento, 2005–2010). A band whose whole site was one logo. You clicked the truck, the owl or the flower inside it to get around.
Both sites are long gone from their original addresses. Domfly keeps its own copies of their files, so each card opens the site in its own pieces instead of a screenshot.
Why a list like this
Most sites today look alike: a big headline, three boxes, a button. These two didn't. They had one idea and built the whole site around it, and you remembered them years later.
That's the bar I want Domfly sites to reach. Telling Domfly what you want should get you a site that feels like yours, not a template with your name dropped in.
I'll keep adding to the list. Take a look.
